For the professional farrier, a DVD will be available that provides basic guidelines for the application of Cytek Horseshoes. While this can get experienced farriers started, it is highly recommended that they seek a broader knowledge of the system through additional training.
Our workshops and seminars provide the farrier with essential understanding of the Cytek System and clear guidelines for appropriate hoof trimming and application of Cytek shoes. The problems encountered by farriers on a daily basis such as, long toes, collapsed heels, seedy toe, thin soles and dysfunctional frogs, can be greatly minimized with the sound principles taught. Internal hoof problems such as corns, navicular disease, pedal osteitis, ring bone, side bone etc, are also minimized using the Cytek System.
Cytek Horseshoeing in the USA has 4 levels of farriery certification.
Level 1 - Cytek Hoof Trimmer Certification
- Attend and complete a hoof trimming workshop.
Level 2 - Cytek Farrier Certification
- Attend and complete a Cytek farrier workshop.
- Apprentice at least one day with a practicing Cytek Approved Farrier.
Level 3 - Cytek Approved Farrier Certification
- Cytek Farrier Certification
- Attend and complete a Cytek Approved Farrier workshop.
- Perform a complete lower limb research dissection.
Level 4 - Cytek Master Farrier Certification
- Cytek Approved Farrier Certification.
- Attend and complete a Cytek Master Farrier workshop.
- Complete and document a research case study on an equine.

Owner Hoof-Trimming Workshops
Owner Hoof-Trimming Workshops are available for owners wishing to trim their own animals. Owner workshops do not include certifications for farriery. These workshops will be listed on the site as they become available.
